I found out that my current employer (one of them) doesn't have any more non-resident tuition waivers, which I need in order to avoid paying an extra $1000 for three credits. My eye just started twitching.

you should check with the student financial services peeps. they have waivers based on your employment-- meaning you can petition directly to the university not the department...call them and ask. they know a lot of stuff.

I do my part to subvert the patrilineal paradigm. I don't think feminism is about doing things that have always oppressed us only now we're "choosing" it. I like red and orange, and believe that Ms. Magazine saved my life in 1990. What most people think is funny I often think is sad. I like underdogs and the people who root for them.

alas i think i am screwed because it's not considered "employment," it's classified as a "fellowship" (i.e. contract labor with no benefits).
thanks for the tip tho'
Hi KF-
Completely unrelated, but it's me, Regina from Seattle. Had you read that Aradia is closing its doors after 34 years?
Thought you would be interested in that news, as I, and many, many other people are. The Stranger is covereing it pretty well on their blog.
Hope you are well, and I am sure you will fully and beautifully pull off your dissertation and present and defend like a grand champion.
Best and Happy Holidays,
RL
