Chris Bell is the only candidate for governor who signed the NARAL Pro-choice Texas Prevention First Pledge, which says that if elected he will "work toward the common-ground goals of supporting access to family-planning services, making birth control, including the “morning-after” pill, more affordable and accessible, and teaching our young people honest, realistic sex-education."
This makes my decision pretty clear.

glad to know-- I voted today for him and then told my mom to vote for him too.
I've also heard that he has pulled ahead of Strayhorn and Friedman in the polls. This is good news.
frankie and i are off to vote tommorow afternoon! freidman really should have told his supporters to vote for Bell last week. shitty of him not to, you know?
I really wanted to like Friedman, y'know? But the guy just oozes patriarchy in my opinion. And the litany of one-liners just makes him seem even more superficial than one would expect from a regular politician. The only thing I like about him is the fact that he runs an animal sanctuary on his property.
